20ft Containers · the Darling Downs
20 Foot Shipping Containers on the Darling Downs
The size most Downs buyers settle on. Header spares and a bench at one end, bagged seed at the other — or a household's furniture while the new place goes up. It travels on a standard tilt-tray, which keeps the drop simple.

Where a 20ft ends up
Next to the machinery shed as the parts store; at the house paddock for furniture during a build; at the cattle yards for vet gear, drench and ear tags; in a town backyard for the boat gear and camping kit.
Guide prices, ex GST. The delivered figure depends on which unit is on hand in the grade you want and how far the truck runs to your gate — ring (07) 4516 5999 for the actual number.
As-is grade: Buying as-is? Those units go as seen and carry no watertight promise. Only cargo-worthy and new single-trip stock is checked wind and watertight.
Questions about the 20ft
What does a 20ft container cost delivered on the Downs?
From $2,200 for cargo-worthy used and $3,300 for new single-trip, ex GST, before delivery. The truck is priced by distance and access — a Dalby town block and a property past Tara are different runs. Ring (07) 4516 5999 for a single delivered figure.
Can I get pictures of the 20ft before it's delivered?
Yes. On request we send photos of the unit you're getting, serial number in shot, before it goes on the truck. You can also arrange to look at it in person.
When can it be delivered?
That depends on what's on hand in your grade, where the truck is working, and — after rain or irrigation — whether your ground will carry it. We give you a delivery window when we quote and keep you posted if the weather changes it.
Will a 20ft keep the rain out?
New single-trip and cargo-worthy used units are checked wind and watertight before dispatch. As-is units are not sold as watertight. Watertight means rain from above stays out; it says nothing about water rising from the ground.
Is it safe from floodwater on low ground?
No. Water that rises to the door seals gets inside and then stays there, and an empty container can float in deep water. Put it on the highest firm ground you have, well away from the creek or channel, raised on blocks under the corner castings. The useful thing is that a container can be lifted onto a truck and moved before a rise.
